Twisting of a Giant Cystic Meckel’s Diverticulum in a Toddler: A Case Report and Brief Literature Review

Objective : Herein we report an unusual case of torsed giant cystic Meckel’s diverticulum (MD) in a three-year-old boy, illustrating the rarity this condition and briefly reviewing literature on it. Case Report A boy who clinically presented with severe colicky abdominal pain frequent vomiting. Abdominal ultrasonography showed lesion lower abdomen. Contrast-enhanced CT revealed well-defined right upper quadrant mass measuring ~5 × 4 cm. The appeared to be arising from small intestine. radiological features were not suggestive malignancy. An urgent laparotomy was performed. At operation, he found have incomplete MD. Postoperative recovery uneventful, patient discharged sixth postoperative day. regular, 3-year follow-up no complications. Conclusion represents rare cause intra-abdominal/pelvic should considered its differential diagnosis. Timely surgical intervention reduces morbidity provides best clinical outcome.
